Build your first map
Build your first map, with a block the AI wrote, in about five minutes.
- Open map.corlecti.com. If you are signed out you reach a page titled Sign in to Corlecti Map.
- Press
Sign in with Corlecti ID.
Your Corlecti ID is one sign-in across every Corlecti product, and signing in creates yours if you do not have one yet.
You arrive on your dashboard, the list of your maps. Your name sits at the right end of its header: press it to open the account menu, where Settings and Upgrade plan are. On a map, the same menu is at the foot of the sidebar. If you see a panel titled Start your first map, your account has no map of its own yet, and the next step begins there.
Up to 3 ready-made starter maps, chosen for the line of work on your Corlecti account, are waiting on your first sign-in. They are yours to edit or delete, and they do not use up your included maps. When one is published, a Corlecti roadmap map, which you can read but not edit, appears under Shared with me.
Make your first map#
- On the Start your first map panel, press
Start from a blank map. If the panel is not there, pressadd mapin the toolbar instead: it opens the same panel. - In the panel that opens, type a Name that says what the map is about. A Description is optional.
- Press
Add map. The button stays dimmed until the map has a name. You land on the new, empty map.
Would you rather have the AI start? Press Describe it to the map builder on the first panel. It makes an untitled map with the chat already open: say what the subject is in a sentence and the Builder proposes the blocks and the links, then skip to Where to go next.
Write your first blocks#
- Press
N, or pressAdd a block, the plus in the toolbar. - Click the canvas where the block should go (
Esccancels before you click). The block appears with its title selected: type a title and pressEnter. For the first block, tryLaunch plan. - Press
Nagain for the next block. Each press places one. - To write more inside a block, select it and press
Enterto open it. PressEnteragain to switch between reading and editing.
Made a mistake? ⌘Z on a Mac or Ctrl+Z elsewhere undoes the last change. The rest of writing on the canvas is in Write and connect blocks.
Connect two blocks#
- Click a block to select it. A
+appears under it. - Press the
+to add a new block below, already connected to the first. - To join two blocks that already exist, drag from the small dot on the bottom edge of one to the small dot on the top edge of the other.
The connection runs from the first block to the second, which makes the first the parent. A block and everything hanging under it is a branch: Maps, blocks and connections explains the words, and Branches what a branch is.
Ask the AI to build a branch#
- Press
C, or pressMap chatin the toolbar, to open the chat; if it is already open, carry on. It opens on Builder, the agent that builds and rearranges a map with you. Only the map's owner has the chat, and on a map you made that is you. - Ask for a branch under one of your blocks, naming it by its title. For example: "Break my Launch plan block into phases, with the risks hanging off each one."
- Watch the blocks and connections appear on the map. Open any of them and change it, or delete it.
A version of the map is saved automatically before an agent edits it, so you can go back: Undo, and go back to an earlier version.
Every plan includes an AI allowance and the Builder draws on it; the included models need no setup of your own. The AI allowance explains what it is.
