Bring material into a map

Bring material into a map from Telegram, from a PDF or from a web page.

Write to the Corlecti bot#

Corlecti has a Telegram bot of its own. Open your account menu, choose Settings ▸ Telegram, press Connect on the "Corlecti's bot" row and press Start in Telegram. Type the code the bot sends you into the box under the row and press Connect again; the code works once and expires in 10 minutes.

After that, send /map and part of a map's name to choose where your messages go. Until you do, the bot saves nothing and says no map is chosen. Then each message you send becomes a block: the first line is its title, and a link sent alone is titled by its site. A voice note is transcribed first (its own allowance). /where says which map you are on.

A photo becomes a picture block on the map, with its caption beside it; an album becomes one block per photo. Under each new block the bot offers ↩️ Undo, which removes the block for a day after it is saved, as long as you have not changed it or built on it. Replies added to a block have no Undo. Reply to the bot's "Saved to …" message with text, a voice note or a photo and it is added to that same block instead of making a new one; a receipt takes replies for 30 days. Send /map alone and your maps appear as buttons.

/export and /pdf send the map into the chat as a file. /pdf is made in the chat for a map of up to 70 blocks, and draws the first 6 pictures you uploaded; the rest stay captions. A larger map is refused with a pointer to exporting a PDF from the map itself, or to /export, which has no such limit.

/search and a few words finds up to five blocks by meaning and sends each with a link to its map; if meaning finds nothing, or meaning search is down for a moment, it looks for the exact words and says which kind of match you got. It searches only what the bot can reach: the one map an own bot is bound to, or all your maps for a bot that writes to every map. A bot narrowed to a branch searches only that branch. Searching is free.

The bot also writes to you first, about two blocks that are not linked. It asks weekly, up to three pairs in one message, or daily, at the hour you set in Settings ▸ Telegram, in the chat you wrote to last, one schedule for all your bots. Answer with the buttons: link them, add a word for the link, unrelated (it never asks about that pair again), later, or fewer. It stays quiet while you are writing or an interview is running, and asks less often after three messages in a row go unanswered. /reminders and daily, weekly or off changes how often; alone it shows the schedule.

Commands#

Your own bot takes the same commands; /help lists the ones that apply to you.

/map [name] choose which of your maps this chat works on; alone, it lists them as buttons
/last the most recent block on the map
/search <words> find blocks by meaning, or by the exact words
/where which map the bot works on
/export the map as a Markdown file
/pdf the map as a PDF
/scenario [name] the guided interviews you can run; add a name to start one
/continue pick up the interview on this map
/stop pause the interview
/clear ask before erasing the assistant conversation on this map
/reminders [daily|weekly|off] how often the bot asks about two unlinked blocks
/help what you can do in this chat

Use your own bot#

A bot under your own name. It captures every message as a block, or answers as the assistant, in the same conversation as the map's chat in the browser.

For more, press Upgrade plan in the account menu (all figures).

  1. Create a bot with @BotFather in Telegram and copy its token.
  2. In Settings ▸ Telegram, open "Connect your own bot" ("Connect another bot" once you have

one) and paste the token.

  1. On the bot's card, under Writes to, choose one map or "All my maps" (then /map picks

the map). Under Messages become, choose "A chat turn" or "A captured block". With one map chosen, Branch can narrow the bot to one block and everything under it: the bot, and anyone you let write to it, then changes only that branch. Deleting that block removes the bot.

  1. The card says "Waiting for your first message". Open the bot from the link on it and send

anything from your own private chat, before you open its door to anyone: that first message connects the bot to your account. A group or channel gets a reply saying the bot works only in private chats.

Let other people write to your bot#

Somebody without a Corlecti account can add to your map through your bot. Their messages become notes on the map the bot writes to and count against your account; they cannot see your other maps, read anything back or run a command.

People who may write to your bot 0 5 5

Where the limit is 0, adding a guest is refused in your settings. Guests and the door need a connected bot.

  • By name. On the bot's card, under "People who may write to it", type their @username and

press Add. Their first message is matched to the invitation.

  • Through the door. Tick "Let new people write to this bot", choose how many people (1 to 25)

and for how long (15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 1 day, 3 days or 7 days), then press Open the door. Whoever writes while it is open joins the list. It shuts when the people or time run out, or press Close now.

Import a PDF or a web page#

Open a map's chat with Map chat in the toolbar. To bring in a PDF, press the paperclip beside the message box, or drop or paste the file onto it: one file at a time, up to 15 MB. For a web page, put its address in your message and ask the agent to read it: up to 5 MB.

The agent reads the text and builds the structure on the map; if a document is too long to read in full, the chat says so and builds from its beginning. Reading it spends your AI allowance by the document's length: a page a little, a document at the length limit the most. Building the map spends it like any other turn in the chat.
